Just so Wessels knows, two-hundred-and-fifty-dollars is a lot for a Chinese worker, especially considering the conditions he's working under. Any suggestion or implication of a horrible or "sweatshop"-esque environment or both sensationalistic and dead wrong.

The fact that there's a market for it doesn't justify it. There's also a market for underage children and drugs. It doesn't mean the people supplying the meat or the crack are all right for doing what they're doing.

.. and that's not to say I condemn the farming, either. It's harmless, to me. And they get a nice job out of it.

Also, as far as I've come to understand it, the Chinese worker can be one of three things:

1) an actual player who is interfacing with the game

2) a bot manned by an actual player who does very little (as the bot does most of the work) save for clicking here or replying to that (to confirm a sale or prove he's not a bot).

3) a bot

I can do this too, by the way.

Read it.

And, if you don't feel like reading it in its entirety, read this:

"If they didn't work here they'd probably be working as waiters in hot pot restaurants," he said, "or go back to help their parents farm the land - or more likely, hang out on the streets with no job at all."

Here in coastal Fujian Province, several gold farm operators offered access to their underground facilities recently, on the condition that their names not be disclosed because the legal and tax status of some of the operations is in question.

One huge site here in Fuzhou has over 100 computers in a series of large, dark rooms. About 70 players could be seen playing quietly one weekday afternoon, while some players slept by the keyboard.

"We recruit through newspaper ads," said the 30-something owner, whose workers range from 18 to 25 years old. "They all know how to play online games, but they're not willing to do hard labor."

Wow, was just in Elona Reach today and....yeah, those are definitely bots. They all move in exactly the same pattern while going to the the merchant as somebody else mentioned. Watch how they sort of walk into that nook in the rocks. All of them, all the time.

Amazing....

There's ~30 bots there, even on American Districts. Go look for yourself before posting.
